Fast: One Meal, TV/Streaming and Social Media
Scripture:
As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Mark 10:17 NIV
Thought of the day:
What must I do to inherit eternal life? Jesus says to him “this one thing you must do”. It seems with God the Father and Jesus, there is always one thing more we must do to have more of God working through and in us. What is the one more thing God has been bringing to your mind? Perhaps, forgiving someone who hurt you, giving something you have to some else (maybe even someone you really don’t like), fasting one meal, turning off the TV, shutting off your social media. Jesus also says if you lose your life, you will find it. Losing your life is not a negative, but instead, it's a positive. So the choice is yours, more of God or the same old you.
Prayer:
Father, I asked You to help me to make the right decisions. I want to give You control of my life, so reveal to me the one thing that I need to deal with. I want more of You working in me and through me. I refused to hold on to the same old me, and make the decision to do what You say. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
