Life = Something we all do every day – live life

Group = A gathering of people for a particular purpose

Life Group = A gathering of people, in a personal atmosphere, sharing life – its ups and downs, joys and sorrows – with purposeful emphasis on how God wants us to live.

Life Groups are small group Bible studies that meet in area homes on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. They are a great way to get connected with people in the church on a personal level and build relationships.

Childcare is available for infants through Kindergarten in the east hall of main building. Enter through the front doors. Kids Discipleship is available for grades 1-5 in the KFORCE building, directly behind the main building.

Small groups are also available for students in grades 6-8 and 9-12. They meet in the groundzero student center.

Drop off for childcare and youth begins at 5:45 p.m. ALL children and youth must be picked up by 8:30 p.m.

2012 Schedule:

Whether you realize it or not, you live in the midst of spiritual combat. Your enemy, the devil, is dangerous, destructive and determined to keep you from effectively serving God. In order to defend yourself against his attacks, you need to know how the enemy operates.

Through this next Life Group study, Spiritual Warfare: Overcoming the Enemy, you will gain a thorough knowledge of the enemy’s tactics and schemes. As you discover the truth about Satan, including the limits of his power, you will be equipped to stand firm against his attacks and to develop a strategy for living daily in victory.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School classes are available for infants through senior adults at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday. Current classes are:

Adult Classes:

Let's Get Acquainted: Led by Pastor Troy & Carla Boulware. This class provides an opportunity for those who have recently begun attending Abundant Life to get acquainted with the pastors and learn more about the church. Other class hosts help you get acquainted and connected. Main Building: Room 105

iConnect - Young Adults: Led by Wayne & Leslee Collins. Our current study will be on Christian Apologetics, focusing on specialized discussions and defense of the Christian faith, with class member involvement and interaction on both sides of the argument. Understanding God's absolute truth in a world of relativity and generating defenses that create a bridge of understanding for opposing views are the goal.

We will be exploring the general and initial responses to many key tops, but delving more deeply into those that class members find more relevant to their daily lives. Our deeper study and interactive class sessions will look at the following topics based on previous class polling: purity, homosexuality, evolution & abortion. We look forward to what God can and will do in our study of His Word and in defense of our faith in the one true God. Groundzero Building: College Room

For Ladies Only: Led my Marilyn Titzer. "Becoming a Woman of Simplicity" - Uncomplicate your life and join other ladies in pursuit of God's plan for your life. Marilyn's deep faith and knowledge of God's Word will help you sort through the challenges life throws at you. Don't miss this exciting adventure. Main Building: Room 203

Total Forgiveness: Led by Max & Julie Smith. From the book Total Forgiveness Experience by author R.T. Kendall, this study is a guide to freeing Christians from the crippling effects of unforgiveness. The Bible teaches us that we, who have been forgiven everything, should also forgive others. As a matter of fact, this is part of the prayer Jesus taught us to pray and has become known as "The Lord's Prayer."

In spite of what we know Jesus taught, we Christians often struggle with forgiving ourselves and sometimes just refuse to forgive others. This study will help you work through those issues to find the freedom God wants you to have. Main Building: Room 107

Body Builders: Led by Kenneth de Jonge and Bob Weis. “War Rages On! The Battle for Men’s Souls” - Satan’s tactics towards us are ruthless and unrelenting, often leaving us feeling isolated, confused and alone. God never said He would keep us from the enemy’s attacks - our struggles will not be any different than they were for Jesus. In our defense, He has given us weapons to use against Satan, but it’s up to you to use them. What will you do? What will you choose? Pick up your weapons and fight! Main Building: Room 106

Ascend: Led by Martin Hadley and Wayman Brackett. I & II Thessalonians - These books of the Bible are named after the city of Thessalonica, established in 315 BC by Cassander, a General in Alexander the Great's army. Although a city in Greece, it had a strong Roman influence although it was free from Roman rule. As such, the city attracted a cross section of culture, including Samaritans.

As one of the early churches, Paul established the books as an instruction manual on faith and in "doing church" with a cross section of cultural backgrounds.

The books are key to understanding the "Day of the Lord," which includes the rapture and the second coming of Christ. I Thessalonians 5:19 is key to the revelation that believers will not be subjected to "The Wrath" of God to be poured out during the final 7 years of this age. Main Building: Room 108
